Community Services
Community Programs at Manchester
At Manchester International School, we place a strong emphasis on community engagement and social responsibility through our CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) and Service as Action programs. These initiatives provide our students with enriching opportunities to develop creativity, physical health, and a profound sense of social responsibility. CAS is an integral component of the International Baccalaureate program, encouraging students to venture beyond the confines of the classroom and explore diverse experiences. On the other hand, Service as Action is designed for our Middle Years Programme (MYP) students, aimed at instilling a sense of community and social responsibility.
CAS: Fostering Holistic Development
CAS is more than just an academic requirement; it's a transformative journey for our students. Through CAS, they immerse themselves in activities that go beyond traditional academics. These experiences encompass creative pursuits, physical challenges, and, most importantly, meaningful service to the community. CAS is a platform for our students to nurture their passions, explore new interests, and cultivate empathy. By participating in CAS, students develop a deeper understanding of the world and their place in it. This program encourages students to become well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also socially aware.
Service as Action: A Commitment to Community
Our Middle Years Programme (MYP) students engage in Service as Action, which is a profound commitment to community service. This program is designed to foster a sense of social responsibility in our younger students, encouraging them to actively participate in meaningful service activities. Through Service as Action, students learn the importance of giving back to their community, making a positive impact on society, and becoming responsible global citizens. This experience is instrumental in nurturing their empathy and understanding while contributing to the betterment of society.
Balancing Academics and Philanthropy
At Manchester International School, we recognize the need to strike a balance between academic rigor and philanthropy. Our academic programs, including the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), are demanding, but we firmly believe in providing students with opportunities to give back to the community. Our philanthropic initiatives, such as tree plantations, "Swachh Bharat" cleanliness awareness campaigns in slums and public places, donating children's books, and volunteering to teach English, serve as a counterbalance to the pressures of our rigorous academic curriculum.
Fostering Compassion with Interact Club
In line with our commitment to community service, Manchester International School is proud to host its very own Interact Club, operating under the guidance of the Rotary Club of Legends, Coimbatore 3201 DC. The Interact Club aims to instill a sense of responsibility and compassion among our students. This club is dedicated to community service for students aged 12 to 18 and serves as a vehicle for students to effectively serve their society. By participating in the Interact Club, our students not only support various community initiatives but also develop a deep sense of compassion and responsibility.
